U.S. ORBITS NUCLEAR WEAPONS PLATFORM
(Houston) In April the Bush Administration abandoned the 40 year old U.N. Outer Space Treaty and launched a nuclear weapons platform into orbit around the earth.  While orbiting weapons have always been viewed as a poor choice for defense against nuclear attack, they have distinct advantages as offensive weapons used against unsuspecting or otherwise defenseless targets.
According to http://www.ken-welch.com, the originator of this story, weapons of mass destruction in orbit represent an unending threat of Terror unprecedented in world history.  Considering current events in the Middle East, which many people believe are being carefully stage-managed, the possibility of Armageddon has never seemed more real.
While nuclear war in the middle east is unlikely to spread beyond the region, the potential of chaos in financial markets and disruption of normal affairs would be a virtual certainty.
The launch comes at a time of rising international concern over statements by the Bush Administration that imply the weaponization of space is high on the U.S. agenda.  Shortly after 9-11 the U.S. withdrew from the restrictive ABM treaty, and in recent remarks at the UN Conference on Disarmament indicated that all weapons in space, for whatever purpose, must now be defined as "peaceful". The U.S. also blocked any discussion of new restrictions on the employment of space-based weapons, regardless of their type or purpose.
